Where we are

WHERE WE ARE

ROCCHE DEI SETTE FRATELLI (THE CLIFFS OF THE SEVEN BROTHERS)

The Rocche dei sette fratelli, is a huge crater in the ground, nearly nine hectares long, entirely in the comune of Treiso, on the borders with Alba.

Originating over the course of thousands of years due to the erosive effect of water on the clay earth, these natural gullies present themselves almost as if they were a grey-white amphitheatre.

The crater’s clay/rock walls are too steep to allow the growth of any trees.

THE TRUFFLE FAIR

The Fair of the White Truffle of Alba began in 1929 as “a sample fair with prizes for the famous Langhe truffles”, and was included into the celebrations of the Harvest Party.

In 1932, the fair was already well established and the following year acquired the official brand name of “Fiera del Tartufo” (Truffle Fair), tiring itself further to the typical Alba products, particularly the wines.

In 1963 the fair achieved the title of “National” and in 2007 became “The International Fair of the White Truffle of Alba”.

BARBARESCO AND THE UNESCO HILLS

The house is situated just a few kilometres from Barbaresco and Neive.

These two communes (Barbaresco and Neive), are both famous for the production of one of the most important Italian wines; Barbaresco. In the actual town of Barbaresco, one should not miss out on the splendid medieval tower. Neive on the other hand, is one of the oldest and prettiest historic towns.

So, to put it in a nutshell, we are in the heart of the wine-growing/producing countryside that the Unesco Committee recognised as an integrate part of the World Heritage.
